Bleaching technique and dye on handmade flag
Model/Muse: Hedy Lamarr
 The model/ muse for this work is Hedy Lamarr. The painting is made by sewing the red moon shape onto linen, then dyed black. I then bleached the portrait in layers, and the bleach removes the black dye, revealing the initial colour of the cloth. The work is washed thoroughly with every layer, finally washing a last time and attaching to a canvas stretcher.
The portraits I create have a haunting glow and appear to be woven in the fabric.
